✦What it is
The Youth Executive Council is the peak leadership body of Aletheia Australia: young people aged 14 to 25 from across Australia who co-design our strategy, programs and expansion. Members advise on our direction, co-design resources, lead teams and represent youth perspectives with partners and decision-makers.
✦Why it matters
“Designed for youth, by youth” only means something if young people hold real decisions. The Council makes sure the people Aletheia serves are the ones steering it.
✦What members do
- Set priorities and review new programs and resources before they launch
- Lead or support a team: research, resource development, design, outreach, events or communications
- Represent Aletheia at events, panels and consultations
- Mentor volunteers and help grow the community
✦What members get
Everything that comes with sitting on an organisation’s peak leadership body: real decision-making, leadership and governance experience, training in health literacy and advocacy, references, and a network of young changemakers.
✦Who it’s for
Young people aged 14 to 25 across Australia who care about youth health, from any background. No experience needed.
✦Where it’s at
Applications are open on a rolling basis and are assessed on quality, Aletheia’s current needs and team fit.
